Creativity is key when designing living spaces. These built in garden beds set this patio apart from other concrete patios. The levels of the patio create opportunities for fun innovation in the space. The upper patio steps down to a tier of garden beds which then step down to the lower patio space. Even though the material they chose is standard grey concrete, we were able to keep things interesting with the levels. It might have even gotten too busy with everything goin on if we had done something like stamped and colored concrete. Achieving balance between the complexity of the design versus the materials can be challenging but it came together beautifully in this space.
